PM79997: CPSM IPCS VERBEXIT UNABLE TO LOCATE CICS REGION

Error description

• You are attempting to use the CPSM IPCS VERBEXIT to format the
  CPSM information in an SVC dump. For example, you issue:
  .
    VERBX EYU9D420 'TRC=A'
  .
  to format the CPSM-written trace entries. Instead of receiving
  the proper output, you receive something similar to the
  following:
  .

  * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this    *
  *                 APAR, restart any IPCS sessions with CPSM    *
  *                 libraries containing the updated VERBEXIT    *
  *                 EYU9D510 in the STEPLIB or IPCS TASKLIB      *
  *                 concatenation.                               *

     On entry the CPSM VERBEXIT scans a dump to locate any CICS
  address spaces containing active CPSM CMAS or MAS agent code.
  During this scan a table is built of accessed storage locations
  to allow detection of storage reference loops.  When scanning
  storage in cache data spaces, the name of the data space is
  stored in the reference list.  However when scanning storage
  in an address space, only the address and length of the storage
  is stored in the list.  Thus if a dump contains several address
  spaces, access of identical storage locations in different ad-
  dress spaces will be interpreted as a storage reference loop,
  and the VERBEXIT will terminate.
  

Problem conclusion

• Module EYU0DVSR (DVSR - VERBEXIT Common Subroutines) was
  modified to store the string ASID####, where #### is the EBCDIC
  representation of the hexadecimal address space ID, in the ref-
  erence list entry for an access to storage in an address space.
