Error description
You are running CICS transaction server v4.2 and have IPIC connections between CICS and CTGs. You start experiencing the following error messages in the TORs: DFHIS0002 A severe error (code X'0686') has occurred in module DFHISXM. DFHIS0002 A severe error (code X'0206') has occurred in module DFHISIS. DFHIS0002 A severe error (code X'0687') has occurred in module DFHISXM. The TORs and CTGs need to be recycled to resolve this problem. Review of the dump shows that the CISR task has issued the initial receive which returned some bytes of data. This was enough to do the XMAT ATTACH for the mirror task before issuing another receive to get the remaining bytes. The CISR task got suspended switching from the QR to the SO TCB. The mirror started and the DFHISIS INITIALIZED_RECEIVER call was issued by DFHISXM INIT_CLIENT. This results in the task being suspended on an IS_RECV waiting for the CISR task to receive the remaining data. The CISR task is resumed and the remainder of the data is successfully received. The ECB that the mirror is waiting, is posted complete. The task got suspended waiting for new input. When the mirror task then resumes, the INVALID_STATE is issued. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Exception INVALID_STATE with message * * DFHIS0002 is issued when handling a * * DPL request from CTG client. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** A DPL request with data size larger than 60K is received in CICS from a CTG client over an IPIC connection. The CISR task is notified and an ISSB is obtained for this request. CISR then attaches a mirror task to handle this request. During the process of the mirror task, a deferred abend is detected and CICS then frees the ISSB and terminates the mirror task. However the rest of the data for this request is received and handled in CISR task which causes some fields in the freed ISSB is incorrectly updated. When a new request is received, CICS gets an ISSB for this request. If the updated ISSB (contains incorrectly residual value) is used here, this request can not be handled by CICS successfully which causes an exception and DFHIS0002 message being issued.
Problem conclusion
CICS has been changed so that the ISSB can not be incorrectly updated after it is freed.
