Error description
Using CECI a record in a recoverable CFDT is deleted and the server in use was then cancelled. As expected, subsequent attempts to access the CFDT fail with a SYSIDERR and the CECI task issues a SYNCPOINT ROLLBACK and is terminated with PF3. (All of these complete with a NORMAL reponse.) . On restarting the CFDT server and causing CICS to reconnect, the following messages are issued unexpectedly: . DFHFC0002 A severe error (code X'24DB') has occurred in module DFHFCDY DFHME0116 678 (Module:DFHMEME) CICS symptom string for message DFHFC0002 is PIDS/5655S9700 LVLS/660 MS/DFHFC0002 RIDS/DFHFCDY PTFS/HCI6600 PRCS/000024DB DFHDU0201 ABOUT TO TAKE SDUMP. DUMPCODE: FC0002 , DFHDU0202 CIB1GA01 SDUMPX COMPLETE. SDUMPX RETURN CODE X'00' . These are then followed by the DFHFC7715 message, which is the only message that was expected after restarting the CFDT: . DFHFC7115 The coupling facility data table server for pool CI1S has failed and restarted. One or more in-flight transactions which had made recoverable updates to coupling facility data tables residing in the pool will be abended. . Looking in the trace of the dump indicates CICS has tride to purge the already completed CECI task which has naturally failed and additionally shows 24DB as an unrecognized trace point. . 00058 QR AP 24DB ** POINT NOT RECOGNIZED ** . Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHFC0002 issued when CICS RESYNC's * * with a CFDT. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In the reported problem, a CICS task_A deleted a record in a recoverable CFDT ( Coupling Facility Data Table ) but did not end. The CFDT server then terminated, the same CICS task_A then tried to do further recoverable work against the same CFDT but this failed with a SYSIDERR because the CFDT had gone away. Task_A did a SYNCPOINT ROLLBACK to undo the previous DELETE. The backout failed as the CFDT was not available. The UOW and RMLK were retained and Task_A ended. However, when the CFDT was brought online again, CICS RESYNC'd with the CFDT and in doing so, attempted a PURGE of Task_A. Task_A was no longer in the system and as a consequence, CICS issued message DFHFC0002 and took a system dump. Keywords: FC0002 msgDFHFC0002
Problem conclusion
DFHFCDY has been amended to not issue the DFHFC0002 or dump in the aforementioned circumstances.
