Error description

  • During a disruptive test (loss of the Logger Address space),
the CMAS was terminated which resulted in the connected WUI LRT
termination as requested by the CMAS. Upon MAS restart, task
recovery was started for the COVA task and an error occurred
during recovery resulting in the following messages:
    .
EYUXS1014I xxxxxxxx Task recovery starting for task ( 1114 ),
      transaction ( COVA )
EYUXS1019W xxxxxxxx API resources allocated for task ( 1114 )
      may be orphaned
EYUXS1016E xxxxxxxx Task recovery in error for task ( 1114 ),
      flags ( NYNNYNNNS )
    .
and a dump out of XSTR. The recovery flags indicate that the
global and local locks were recovered but the OPB was not
    unchained during recovery.

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *

    * that the restarts do not need to occur at *
    *                 the same time.                               *
    ****************************************************************
When a CPSM API program runnning in a MAS terminates without
issuing a DISCONNECT or TERMINATE command, program EYU9XLAP,
running as a CICS end of task TRUE, is called to perform clean
up of all CPSM resources for the program, including CPSM API
    related resources.

When the MAS disconnects from the CMAS to which is was connected
    the EYU9XLAP TRUE is disabled.

After the EYU9XLAP TRUE is disabled, if an API program
terminates, program EYU9XSTR is called as a CICS end of task
TRUE. EYU9XSTR issues messages as described above, and performs
clean up processing for some CPSM resources, but not for CPSM
API resources. This results in those resources being orphaned
    until the MAS is restarted.

Problem conclusion

  • Copybook EYUBXLAO, which maps the CPSM active task array
element, has been updated to include a new flag to indicate that
a task has CPSM API resources allocated.

EYU9XLAP has been updated to turn the new EYUBXLAO flag off and
    on as appropriate.

EYU9XSTR has been updated to check the new EYUBXLAO flag when
called as an end of task TRUE. If the flag is on, it will
release the CPSM API resources allocated for the task and bypass
    issuing any error recovery messages.
