Error description

  • You are using the CICS Explorer CMCI connection in the SM
Admininstration perspective and opened the attribute editor
view for the CICS System definitions. You update and attribute
and Ctrl-S to save the modification which completes
successfully. The record returned by the CMCI interface in the
attribute editor is actually the first record in the CICS
System Definitions instead of the record just updated.

CICS Explorer service data trace shows the doSave() complete
successfully with a 200 OK with 1 record however this is the
    wrong record.

CICS WU domain tracing in the WUI server and DAT 18 tracing in
the CMAS indicate part of the a refresh being performed for the
    update. WU tracing shows:

AP A29B WURQP DATA - exitUpdateCpsmRecords
AP A2A8 WURQP DATA - exitRefreshCpsmResultset

    with a single record.

    DAT 18 tracing shows:

REFR_cmd for the refresh of the resultset.

CICSPlex SM method TAQA which is called to refresh the CSYSDEF
resultset does not support NAMELISTs and the refresh returns
all records and the first record is returned to CMCI.

    * of the CSYSDEF record that was updated. *

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *
    * APAR, all CMASes must be restarted. Note *
    * that the restarts do not need to occur at *
    *                 the same time.                               *
    ****************************************************************
When a CPSM definition record is updated through the CICS
Explorer, the record is updated and then a REFRESH command is
issued to retrieve the changed record. REFRESH uses namelist
processing to retrieve the updated record. The method that
performs REFRESH for CSYSDEF, EYU0TAQA (TAQA), does not support
namelist processing. Instead, TAQA retrieves all CSYSDEF
records for the CICSplex, and the first record in the result set
is returned to the CICS Explorer for display.

Problem conclusion

  • TAQA has been updated to support namelist processing. This will
result in only the updated CSYSDEF record being retrieved and
returned to the CICS Explorer for display.
