Error description

  • Transaction routing from non CICS/TS to CICS/TS, flow a
capability exchange which specifies ISCE_PREFERRED_RECOVERY of
ISCE_RECOV_XA. Then a transaction routing from non CICS/TS
to CICS/TS over IPIC always fails because non CICS/TS
gets an IS07 from CICS/TS with a Sense code (X'08640001').
The problem appears to be with the way CICS handles XA
    sync-points with IPIC.

APAR PM87755 raised to route RET APAR PM27349 fix from
    CICS/TS 4.1 to CICS/TS 4.2.

    * connection fails when the partner *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A non-CICS/TS partner has an IPIC connection to CICS/TS 4.2. The
capability exchange between the two partners specifies
isce_recov_xa for the XA recovery manager, rather than
isce_recov_cics for the CICS recovery manager as would be the
case when both partners were CICS/TS.
A transaction is routed from the non-CICS/TS partner to CICS/TS
where it runs as expected. However a failure occurs during
end-of-task syncpoint processing when CICS/TS attempts to free
the IPIC session which is still in send state and in-use.
CICS/TS sends an IS7 error flow to the TOR carrying
SENSE(08640001) to inform it of the error.
The error occurs because CICS/TS does not release the surrogate
terminal on the AOR during end-of-task processing.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS Transaction Routing over IPIC support has been changed for
the reported problem with a non-CICS/TS TOR. During end-of-task
syncpoint processing CICS will now attempt to free the surrogate
terminal on the AOR before attempting to free the IPIC session
    to the TOR.
If the attempt to free the surrogate terminal fails a new
exception trace point, tid_isju_tfrf_failed, will be issued.
The CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V4.2 Trace Entries manual,
SC34-7187-01, will be changed to add a new 'IS 130B' exception
trace point after the existing 'IS 1302' entry. The new trace
    point has the following characteristics:

    Point ID ....... IS 130B
    Module ......... DFHISJU
    Level .......... EXC
    Type ........... RELEASE_FACILITY_FAILED
Data ........... 1 DFHRMLKM parameter list
                     2 DFHTFRF parameter list
