Error description

  • You receive message
EYUCL0122E MAS communications buffer shortage has been detected.
If this is the first time during the run of the region that
this shortage has occurred, CPSM will take a diagnostic SVC
dump and write a EYUXZ0910I message with the dump title similar
    to the following:
    EYUXZ0910I Dump,cmasappl,cmasjob,sysid,xxxx,tranid,
             0012345,TRAC,EYU0CTBT,dd/mm/yyyy,hh:mm:ss.
    .
In the EYUXZ0910I message, you will have the task number.
    Above, it is 0012345.

    ****************************************************************
When a MAS cannot process a request sent to it from a CMAS,
method EYU0CTBT (CTBT), running in the MAS, copies the original
request into a buffer, sets the appropriate response information
and returns the request to the CMAS with a RESPONSE of
ENVIRONERROR (1030) and a REASON of NOTPROCESSED (1378).

A logic error in CTBT causes it to use an invalid length to copy
the original request, resulting in the overlaying of storage in
the MAS dataspace. This overlay can invalidly modify other
buffers, and will most likely cause many of the buffers to be
orphaned. Since there is a finite pool of MAS communications
buffers, it is possible that if many are orphaned, subsequent
requests will not be able to acquire a buffer, resulting in the
    EYUCL0122E message.

Problem conclusion

  • CTBT has been updated to use the correct length when copying the
incoming request to the communications buffer.
