    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: CICS stops using DB2 Group Attach when *
    * DB2 is inactive and CICS is cancelled. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    A CICS system is using DB2 Group Attach, but following a failure
    of DB2, CICS has an indoubt UOW and the CICS system is then
    shutdown. The indoubt UOW still exists when CICS is AUTO started
    up. Should the DB2 subsystem still be inactive when CICS is AUTO
    started up and the CICS is then cancelled, the next AUTO start
    of CICS (and all subsequent ones) will result in the CICS system
    no longer using DB2 Group Attach, even after the indoubt UOW is
    resolved.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHD2TM has restored the GLB_GROUP_OVERRIDE bit from the catalog
    when AUTO restarting CICS.
