Error description
You have just migrated from CICS/TS R3.2 up to R4.2 and have EI1-2 trace turned on. You see an possible increase of CPU consumption up to 33%. When you turn on EI1 or not turn on EI tracing you do not see this increase of CPU consumption. In the program DFHEITTR there has been a change in the HANDLE CONDITION and IGNORE CONDITION routines, which accounts for the increase in CPU consumption. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVBDB
Local fix
Do not run with EI1-2 trace active.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Unexpected increase in CPU usage with E * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When EXEC CICS HANDLE CONDITION is used and Domain EI tracing is enabled at level 2 there is a disproportionate increase in CPU usage compared with release V3.2. This is caused by a loop examining supplied command keywords not exiting at the end of the keyword list, but executing for the maximum number of keywords.
Problem conclusion
DFHEISR routine MAINLINE_TRACE has been updated to exit the iteration of comkeys when the end of list is reached signified by x'00'. DFHARG0 routines dfharg0_get_tr_length and dfharg0_language have been inlined to improve performance.
