Error description

  • Customer is having the issue with EIP CONVERSE when they
are migrating from TS 13 to TS 42. the TOLENGTH is only set
to 100/x64 bytes. This data is much shorter than what customer
is expecting. The net result is the application RECEIVE data is
less than the data entered from the screen.
Further diagnosis, found that the final datastream returned
on the converse looks to be corrupt because there is extra data
    within it.
Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): CONVERSE TOLENGTH

    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Web Bridge incorrectly builds terminal *
    * data for a request using Lightpen. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
A Web request that is sent to the Web Bridge and requires
lightpen processing can cause a corrupt 3270 stream to be
    returned to the executing application.

As each field from the web request is processed the size of the
3270 field is not calculated correctly. This can cause the
3270 datastream that is returned to the application to be
    corrupt.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBTCC lightpen processing has been changed to correctly
obtain the size of the 3270 field.
