Error description
You are developing a web aware requester application. The INVOKE SERVICE fails with INVREQ(16) RESP2(108). This error is not documented and the DFHRESPONSE container, which would provide additional important diagnostic information has been deleted. While CICS will not usually delete DFHRESPONSE in the case of an unexpected HTTP related error, DFHPISN is changing its state from RECEIVE-RESPONSE to NO-RESPONSE. This is done to indicate to any SOAP header handlers that there is no SOAP message to process. However, this also has the side effect of deleting the DFHRESPONSE container at the end of DFHPISN processing. The container being deleted makes tracking down the cause of the HTTP error much more difficult. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVRJL

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: EXEC CICS INVOKE SERVICE fails with * * INVREQ(16) RESP2(108) and the * * HTTP status code is not returned * * to the application. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** EXEC CICS SERVICE fails with INVREQ(16) RESP2(108) indicating that an HTTP error has occurred. When the error occurs the HTTP status code is stored in the DFHRESPONSE container but this container is deleted by code in DFHPISN before returning to the application that issued the EXEC CICS request.
Problem conclusion
DFHPISN has been changed to return the DFHRESPONSE container when there is an INVREQ(16) RESP2(108) response to an EXEC CICS INVOKE SERVICE request.
