Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS IA 3.2 users. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Some SLL instructions generated by PL/X *
    * compiler contain B2 register not equal *
    *                      0 where must be 0.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    Format of SLL instruction is 'SLL R1,D2(B2)'. PL/X compiler
    generates SLL instructions for example 'SLL 3,4'. We expect that
    assembler interprets it as 'SLL 3,4(0)' but we see 'SLL 3,4(N)'.
    Where 'N' is not null register. So in a few instances R1 will
    be shifted left the number of more then 4 bits.
    It happens because of some 'USING BASE,N' assembler instructions
    in PL/X programs do not have the related DROP 'N' instructions.
    Assembler instructions after that point are using register N
    where we would normally expect to see register 0.

Problem conclusion

  • Missing DROP assembler instructions was added.
