    ****************************************************************
During Scope Resolution, an array of pointers to CICS
System elements is built in method BMDS's stack frame. If
the install scope for the RESDESC being processed includes
more than 512 MASes, the pointer table will overflow the
stack frame. When BMDS makes a method call, the new method's
frame overlays the end of the Scope Array. The abend occurs
because an ALET value has been overlaid with data from the
    called method's stack frame.
If a method called from module EYU0BADI encounters an error
during an install initiated from an API program, the response,
reason, and status returned to EYU0BADI are analyzed, the API
Namelist is updated to reflect the exception, and processing
attempts to continue. However register contents have been mod-
ified, resulting in one of several abends when attempting to
update the namelist in the DATx data space. In addition, some
recoverable conditions cause processing to terminate, resulting
    in incomplete installs.

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU0BMDS has been modified to dynamically acquire
and free storage for the Scope Array, and to allow the array
to expand in increments of 512 EPtrs (4096 bytes) as needed.
Module EYU0BADI has been updated to address the current
namelist element correctly when setting response codes, and
to attempt to continue processing if the exception was not of
    a critical nature.
