APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After signing on to the web user interface (WUI) you blank out
  the SCOPE field, and click on the SET button.  When you try to
  go to another VIEW, like BAS ADMINISTRATION you will get a
  message indicating that there has been an error:
  EYUVH0500E  Internal server error.
  You have to sign back on to the WUI with another session.
  By blanking out the SCOPE field, we overlay internal control
  blocks.  This results in ABENDASRA (PROGRAM CHECK) and/or
  ABENDAICA (LOOP) in EYU0VISX.

  *                      appears.  During this time, the WUI     *
  *                      server receives several ASRA and / or   *
  *                      AICA abends.  AUXTRACE may fill and     *
  *                      wrap attempting to trace the WUI Stub   *
  *                      Block (VISB) because of an invalid      *
  *                      length.                                 *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this    *
  *                 APAR, all WUI Servers must be recycled to    *
  *                 pick up the new code.  Note that the re-     *
  *                 starts do not need to be done at the same    *
  *                 time.                                        *
  ****************************************************************
     Module EYU0VIXX (VIXX - WUI Get Server and User Defaults)
  retrieves values from the parsed HTTP stream buffer and copies
  them in the WUI Stub Block (VISB) via an MVC instruction.  If
  the returned value is null, decrementing the length for the
  executed MVC results in moving 256 bytes into the VISB, over-
  laying data following the field being set.  This may result in
  an abend ASRA if the source or target fields are within 256
  bytes of the end of a page, and will certainly result in ASRA
  or AICA abends as addresses and offsets stored within the VISB
  have been overlaid with data from the parsed HTTP stream buffer.
  

Problem conclusion

•    Module EYU0VIXX was modified to check the length of the
  string extracted from the parsed HTTP buffer, and to set the
  target field in the VISB to blanks if the length is zero.
  

Temporary fix

• FIX AVAILABLE BY PTF ONLY
