PK31724: EYUBI0102E BAS INITIALIZATION HAS FAILED ON A R140 OR R220 CMAS,THE MP CMAS IS R310

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You are in a mixed release CICSPlex SM environment where your MP
  CMAS is running CICSTS 3.1 and other CMAS's in the PLEX are
  running TRANSACTION SERVER 2.2 or 1.3.  During initialization of
  these CMAS's RASGNDEF's created on the higher release are being
  installed. This causes BAS initialization to fail with the
  EYUBI0102E message.
  In R310 the check for the period (.) at the end of an
  OVERRIDE STRING was removed. When thesedefinitions are being
  installed on the CMAS's at the lower releases, it causes BAS to
  fail at initialization.
  This problem could occur with any definition that includes
  an override expressions created on higher level CMAS's and being
  imported to lower level CMAS's.  If EVALDEF's are created
  without a period on the operation expression, RTADEF will fail
  to install in the lower level CMAS.

  * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this    *
  *                 APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be recycled  *
  *                 to pick up the new code.  Note that the      *
  *                 restarts do not need to be done at the same  *
  *                 time.                                        *

     The Managed Object Services (MOS) component of CPSM was re-
  written to provide expanded capabilities in support of the API
  and Web User Interface (WUI).  One of the changes relaxed the
  requirement that a MODIFY or OVERRIDE string end in a period
  (".").  This was needed to allow MODIFY strings to be passed to
  API commands via the PARM parameter.  However this change made
  it possible to create RASGNDEFs or EVALDEFs in a CICSplex whose
  MP CMAS has the upgraded MOS code, which cannot be processed by
  CMASes running the old version of MOS.  If a RASGNDEF contains
  an OVERRIDE string without a terminating period, BAS initial-
  ization will fail for the CICSplex under which the incompatible
  definition was created.  If an EVALDEF contains a MODIFY string
  without the terminating period, install of any RTADEFs which
  reference the EVALDEF will fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• Modules EYU0BAAC (BAAC - Create / Update RASGNDEF) and EYU0PAEC
  (PAEC - Create / Update EVALDEF) were modified to reject a defi-
  nition if the FILTER, OVERRIDE, or MODIFY string does not end
  with a period.  In addition, EYU0XDRR (XDRR - Special Reopsitory
  Recovery) was modified to scan the MP CMAS's data repository the
  first time the CMAS initializes after the fix for this APAR is
  applied.  If any EVALDEFs or RASGNDEFs, or MP Synchronization
  (MPSYNCCR) records for EVALDEFs or RASGNDEFs, are found to have
  OVERRIDE or MODIFY strings without a terminating period, the
  definition will be corrected and rewritten to the data reposi-
  tory.  For EVALDEFs and RASGNDEFs, new MPSYNCCR records will be
  created to propagate the fixed records to all CMASes which take
  part in management of affected CICSplexes.  If a record cannot
  be fixed, for example because there is no space following the
  OVERRIDE or MODIFY string, the record will not be modified, and
  a trace record will be written to identify the failing record.
