Because PERIODEF's are identified by a field in the xxxINGRP
(xxx is RTA or MON) and not as a separate linkage resource, if
mapping RTADEFs and RTAGROUPs, or MONDEFs and MONGROUPs, XDGM
retrieves an xxxINGRP resource and builds a map column for the
(optional) PERIODEF identified in the xxxINGRP. In doing so,
the resource ID of the resource currently being processed is
    overwritten by PERIODEF.
When checking for blanks in an adjacent map column, the base
register for the column contents was set incorrectly.
When capturing a Level 2 Entry trace the module header for
EYU0XDGM was traced, and the DAT Major Object Environment Block
was captured in Entry and Exit traces.

Problem conclusion

  • Module EYU0XDGM was updated to save the current resource ID
before processing PERIODEFs, and restore it after. The address
of the map column data value is now calculated correctly before
checking the need for linkage strings, and extraneous data was
eliminated from Level 2 Entry and Exit traces.

Comments

  • You have an RTADEF linked with
    several RTAGROUPs, with an asso-
    ciated PERIODEF. When you issue
a MAP LEFT against the RTADEF or
    PERIODEF, only one RTAGROUP is
seen in the resulting MAP. Other
    RTAGROUPs and resources to the
left of the RTAGROUPs in the map,
    are omitted. The same problem
    may be observed mapping MONDEFs
    and MONGROUPs with associated
    PERIODEFs.
       Generated maps may contain extra
    linkage strings when the adjacent
field is blank in a displayed map.
       Level 2 tracing for EYU0XDGM
    (XDGM - Map Generator) contains
    superfluous data which increases
the size of the resulting trace
    needlessly.

Module EYU0XDGM was updated to save the current resource ID
before processing PERIODEFs, and restore it after. The address
of the map column data value is now calculated correctly before
checking the need for linkage strings, and extraneous data was
eliminated from Level 2 Entry and Exit traces.
