    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: No informational message is issued *
    * informing a customer site that an SVC *

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this *

XZPT (EYU0XZPT - External Services Trace Method) and XLRV
(EYU9XLRV - Environment Error Recovery Program) will determine
if a dump is to be suppressed, based upon the number of times
the dump has been taken, but logic does not exist to issue a
message informing the site that it is being suppressed.

Problem conclusion

  • SVC dump processing has changed. CMAS and MAS dumps are
separated in the abend control table of entries. At most two
entries exist in the table. One for the CMAS, and one for all
MASes that are connected to it. Each entry contains a count of
the number of times the abend has occurred. During a CPSM CMAS
cold start (all MASes are down that were connected to the CMAS
prior to the CMAS being restarted) all table entries are reset.
During a CPSM CMAS warm start (at least one MAS is active that
was connected to the CMAS prior to the CMAS being restarted),
the count will be reset to zero for CMAS related abend entries.
The count will be reset to zero for MAS related abend entries
when no MASes are connected to the CMAS.

SVC dump suppression is controlled by the ESDUMPLIMIT CICSPlex
SM system parameter, only if the ESDUMP system parameter is set
to NO. It can be used in the startup job of a CMAS and controls
the number of dumps collected for a given failure. The default
value is 1. Dump suppression occurs for duplicate dumps once
this threshold has been reached. Valid values are 0 to 999.

Added new field XLAE_ABEND_TYPE to the EYURXLAB (Kernel
Linkage Abend Block). This field will indicate whether
the execution environment is a CMAS or LMAS.

Added new field RECV_ABEND_TYPE to the EYURXLRW (Kernel Linkage
Recovery Work Area (RECV) mapping DSECT). This field will
indicate whether the execution environment is a CMAS or LMAS.

Updated EYU0XZPT so that when a dump is being suppressed because
the SVC dump limit has been reached new message EYUXZ0912W will
    be issued:

EYUXZ0912W EYU0XZPT dump suppressed because ESDUMPLIMIT has
                 been reached

Updated EYU9XLRV so that when a dump is being suppressed because
the SVC dump limit has been reached new message EYUXL0912W will
    be issued:

EYUXL0912W EYU9XLRV dump suppressed because ESDUMPLIMIT has
                 been reached

CLET (EYU0CLET - COMM LPROT ESSS Initial Contact Transient)
service requests consist of two functions: ATTACH and DETACH
ESSS logical connection. A count field has been added to CLET
to track the ATTACH/DETACH processing. The XLAE_ABEND_COUNT
field indicates how many times an abend has occurred for a given
failure. It will be reset to zero for MAS related abends when
no MASes are connected to the CMAS.

Updated XDIN (EYU0XDIN - Data Repository Initialization) to scan
the elements of the EYURXLAB if it already exists and reset the
XLAE_ABEND_COUNT field to zero if the entry is for a CMAS.

Recompiled EYU9XLRW (Environment Error Recovery Program WTO
Messages) to pick up the updated control blocks.

Added message EYUXZ0912W to EYUTXZM0 (Trace Services Message
Prototype Table) and to EYUUXZEQ (Trace Services Standard
    Equates).
