Error description

  • API PERFORM OBJECT returns Response 1034 Notavailable and
    Reason 1294 Scope.

At the same time as the error response, you are shutting down
your CICS region that is within the scope. Just prior to the
NOTAVAILABLE response, you see message :
    EYUTS0003I Topology Disconnect.

With PTF UK15822 applied, you expect the API command to complete
successfully while a MAS is shutting down.
You also expect to see CTBP trace with debug text TrgtUnav
and trace point 28, however, it is not produced.

When security is active in a CMAS, method EYU0CRCK (CRCK) is
called by method EYU0MSIN (MSIN - CPSM Monitor data requests) or
method EYU0XLSD (XLSD - non-CPSM Monitor data requests) when an
EUI, API, or WUI is initiated (front end check) and completed
(back end check) to verify if the requestor has authority to
perform the request. If the request is associated with a MAS,
CRCK attempts to retrieve the MAS's security information block
(SCMIB). If the SCMIB does not exist, CRCK will fail the
request, returning target unavailable to its caller.

    - When MSIN is the caller, it sets a response of OK to the
requestor, but does not return the data.

    - When XLSD is the caller of CRCK, it will return a failure
       response to the caller.

Problem conclusion

  • To resolve these problems, once the SCMIB is acquired, it will
not be freed until the CMAS terminates or the CSYSDEF of the MAS
associated with the SCMIB is removed from the data repository
(EYUDREP). To affect this change, the following updates have
    been made:

    - Method EYU0CRSC (CRSC), which is called at MAS startup, has
been updated to determine if the SCMIB currently exists. If
it does not, CRSC will allocate it from CICS ESDSA, and place
the security information for the MAS into the block. If the
SCMIB does exist, CRSC will clear it, and then place the
security information for the MAS into the block. This
ensures that the block is updated from the last time the MAS
       started.

    - Method EYU0CRST (CRST) which is called at MAS shutdown, has
been updated to not free the SCMIB.

    - Method EYU0TSSD (TSSD) which is called when a CSYSDEF is
removed from the EYUDREP, has been updated to see if the
SCMIB is still allocated for the MAS associated with the
CSYSDEF. If it is, it will free the SCMIB from the CICS
       ESDSA.

Comments

  • - When CPSM Monitoring is active for a
MAS, and a retention period is
specified to allow the data to be
viewed after the MAS terminates, the
data will not be displayed when the
MAS terminates if CPSM security is
active for the CMAS the MAS was
       connected to.

    - Users may experience invalid results
when the scope of an EUI, API, or
WUI request includes a MAS that is
in the process of terminating, if
CPSM security is active for the CMAS
       the MAS was connected to.

       - EUI users may receive message:

           EYUEI0590E Communications to
                      <masname> unavailable

Hitting enter will cause data for
other systems in the scope to be
          displayed. Note that in some
          situations the message will not
          be displayed.

       - API users will receive a RESPONSE
          of 1034 (NOTAVAILABLE) and a
          REASON of 1294 (SCOPE).

       - WUI users will receive message:

           EYUVC1288W The requested
                      resource is not
                      supported by any
                      available MASs in the
