Error description

  • The COLU QUE ALL command lists out all allocated queues, along
    with the method that allocated them. To determine the allocating
    method, it looks at data created at allocation time, based
    partially on parms passed in by the allocator. Method XDJI,
    which allocates a couple of queues for the API, passes in
    invalid data when it does the allocates. This causes the two
    abends, one for each of the queues. This would happen regardless
    of the load on your dataspaces.

    * RECOMMENDATION: After applying the PTF that resolves this    *
    *                 APAR, all CMASes and MASes must be           *
    *                 restarted.  Note that the restarts do not    *
    *                 need to occur at the same time.              *

    When the COLU transaction is issued with the QUE ALL operands,
    method EYU0XQQQ (XQQQ) is called to list all allocated queues.
    For each queue, XQQQ calls method EYU0XLML (XLML) to determine
    the method name.  XQQQ passes information provided by the method
    that allocated the queue, which XLML uses to identify that
    method.  If the data provided by the allocating method is
    invalid, XLML may abend when trying to process it.
    
    Method EYU0XDJI (XDJI) allocates two queues during CMAS
    initialization for API processing.  XDJI provides invalid
    identification information when it calls method EYU0XQCQ (XQCQ)
    to allocate the queues.  This results in the abends that occur
    when the COLU transaction is issued with the QUE ALL operands.
    

Problem conclusion

  • XLML has been updated to recognize if the allocation method
    identification is invalid when called by XQQQ.  XLML will return
    an invalid method name response to XQQQ, instead of abending.
    XDJI has been updated to provide proper identification to XQCQ
    when called to allocate queues during CMAS initialization.
