Error description

  • OpenJPA currently only loads their descriminator class cache
once. If any classes are not registered at that time, they will
not be available for future cache checks, leading to inaccurate
ClassNotFoundExceptions. The fix for this will be to update
OpenJPA to allow the cache to be updated as classes become
loaded and registered with the MetaDataRepository.

The problem can be observed in applications that make use of JPA
discriminators. For classes not registered in the cache,
    exceptions are seen as follows:
    --
    org.apache.openjpa.persistence.ArgumentException:
Could not map discriminator value "SUBCLASS_OF_A" to any
    known subclasses of the requested
    class "A"
    --

    ****************************************************************
OpenJPA currently only loads their descriminator class cache
once. If any classes are not registered at that time, they will
not be available for future cache checks, leading to inaccurate
ClassNotFoundExceptions. The is a very short race condition
that results in CNFE from OpenJPA's discriminator class cache.
