Error description

  • Each version of the WebSphere Liberty server expects to
    connect to a specific version of the Angel process. When
    the version of the Angel process is lower than the server
    expects, problems can occur or some services which the
    server provides may not be available. For example, the
    following message may result from the angel being downlevel,
    even though the server reports that it has connected to the
    angel process.
    ?CWWKB0104I: Authorized service group KERNEL is not availabl
    e.
    In this instance, the server should indicate that it has
    connected to a downlevel angel process. This will make it
    clearer that the incompatibility should be resolved before
    debugging continues.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A Liberty server does not indicate when *
    * it has connected to a downlevel angel *
    *                      process.                                *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When a Liberty server connects to an angel process, the
    following message is printed:
    CWWKB0122I: This server is connected to the default angel
    process.
    If that angel process is at a version less that the version the
    server expects, certain functions or capabilities may not be
    available to that server. It would be helpful to know that the
    server has connected to a downlevel angel process, so that debug
    efforts can focus on resolving the incompatibility first.

Problem conclusion

  • The following message was added, and is printed whenever a
    Liberty server connects to an Angel process whose version is
    less than the version the server expected:
    CWWKB0127W: The current angel version is earlier than the
    version that the server expects. Update the angel version to the
    latest available version.

    pack 19.0.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
