PH11905: INCREASED DEPLOYMENT MANAGER STARTUP CAUSED BY INEFFICIENT DATA STRUCTURE

Subscribe

You can track all active APARs for this component.

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Inefficient data structure is used to track class names during
webservice endpoint processing, and that adds considerably
(up to 20%) to startup time.
A linked list data structure is being used instead of a hash
    set.

    ****************************************************************
A section of WebSphere Application Server code responsible for
creating a list of application classes uses a linked list.
To determine if a class is already added to the list, the
    list must be traversed.

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been updated to use a HashSet which will help
    reduce deployment manager startup time.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.5.16 and 9.0.5.1. Please refer to the
