APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Under some circumstances, an unformatted message is written
  from the native layer:

  Was not able to obtain data from Java to print to the log. The
  call was from System.out.
  .
  This APAR will remove the message since it's not needed.
  

Local fix

• The message can safely be ignored.

  Passing a null string to System.out.println causes the
  following
  to be printed.
  Was not able to obtain data from Java to print to the log. The
  call was from System.out.
  Passing a null string to System.err.println causes the
  following
  to be printed.
  Was not able to obtain data from Java to print to the log. The
  call was from System.err.
  

Problem conclusion

• Changed the code to remove the couts that are issued when the
  length of the string passed to native code is zero.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.17 and 9.0.5.2.  Please refer to the Recommended
  Updates
