Problem summary

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If an attacker sends a SIP INVITE       *
*                      with an invalid CSeq header, rather     *
*                      than rejecting the malformed INVITE,    *
*                      WebSphere dispatches it to the          *
*                      SipServlet.                             *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
****************************************************************
If an attacker sends a SIP INVITE with an invalid CSeq header,
rather than rejecting the malformed INVITE, WebSphere
dispatches it to the SipServlet.

Problem conclusion

  • SIP requests with malformed CSeq headers are rejected with an
400 error response.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.5.17 and 9.0.5.3.  Please refer to the Recommended
