  • J2CA0163E ERROR OCCURS WHEN STARTING APPLICATION
    
    J2CA0163E: The
    type of the object referred to by the supplied destination JNDI
    name is wrong. The object must implement javax.jms.destination.
    Destination is a required property for this Activation
    Specification. The destination JNDI name was:
    jms/XXX_ActiveSpecification. The supplied object's class was
    com.ibm.ejs.j2c.ActivationSpecBindingInfo.
    

Local fix

  • deleting "destinationJndiName =" "" in the resource.xml file
    directly from the file.

    specification was changed to not be required.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Activation specification that do not provide the destination
    will not received the J2CA0163E.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
