APAR status

Error description

  • WAS Session Manager only supports version 0 cookies. CXF
supports version 1 cookies, and there was a change that went in
to CXF 3.1.10 to add quotes around values with special
characters. When we upgraded from CXF 3.0.3 to CXF 3.1.18 with
WAS 9.0.5 we got this change,

Version 0 cookie values are wrapped in quotes by the JAXRS-2.0
client.

Problem conclusion

  • Jaxrs 2.0 has been updated to not add quotes around version 0
cookie values.

However, version 0 cookies are not required to include the
version in the cookie, and the default JAXRS cookie version is
1.
So, we added custom property
"com.ibm.ws.jaxrs.overrideDefaultCookieVersion" so that the
user can change the default version of JAXRS cookies. Options
are 0 and 1, with 1 being the default.

The fix for this APAR is targeted for inclusion in fix pack
9.0.5.3.  For more information, see 'Recommended Updates for
