Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server * * V8.5 on zOS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Security products (RACF) may display * * the following error message on zOS: * * INSUFFICIENT AUTHORITY TO GETPSENT * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Calls to the operating system w_getpsent service are being made by a process which has an insufficient privilege level to request such information. Although the failure does not result in functional problems, RACF and similar products may continuously generate error messages.
Problem conclusion
The code which makes these calls has been bypassed since the information that the w_getpsent call makes is not essential to correct operation. APAR PI04723 is currently targeted for inclusion in WebSphere Application Server V8.5 Fix Pack 8.5.5.2.
