APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Currently individual folders are created for each top level job,
  sub job. In AIX if this folder count reaches 32K, Compute Grid
  is unable to proceed with further job submission and getting the
   following exception.

Local fix

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The job log subdirectory cannot be      *
  *                      created resulting in a job submission   *
  *                      failure.                                *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  In some cases, the job log subdirectory cannot be created even
  though the number of subdirectories is below the operating
  system limit.  If this happens, the job submission fails.
  

Problem conclusion

• Compensation logic was added so that creation of the
  subdirectory is retried in the event of a failure.  If the
  retry attempt fails, the job log section where the
  subdirectory was being created is marked invalid and the
  subdirectory is created in a new section.
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fixpack 8.0.0.4. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page
