    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The CDI implementation incorrectly *
    * calculates the decorated types of a *
    *                      decorator.                              *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The CDI 1.0 specification explains that the decorator bean
    class and its superclasses are not included in the set of
    decorated types for that decorator. However, the current CDI
    implementation strictly excludes the decorator bean class and
    its immediate superclass from the set of decorated types; all
    additional superclasses are incorrectly included in the set of
    decorated types. This problem causes a
    WebBeansConfigurationException during application startup when
    a decorator has more than one superclass other than
    java.lang.Object. The error message from the
    WebBeansConfigurationException has the form "Decorator :
    <decorator> delegate attribute must implement all of the
    decorator decorated types."

Problem conclusion

  • The CDI implementation was updated to correctly identify the
    decorated types of a decorator.

    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.2. Please refer to the
