Error description
Using Microsoft Internet Explorer 10, attempted to change the log level details for dmgr.? Navigated to Deployment manager -> dmgr -> Diagnostic trace service -> Change log detail levels. Attempted to click the + to expand the components, but got a pop-up stating InvalidCharacterError. The component listing didn't expand and browser became unusable due to a long running script.? Could not even stop the script and had to close the entire browser.

Problem conclusion
The issue is with javascript code that draws the tree. There is code that tests to see if the browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer and sets "thebrowser = 2". Removed the condition so that this should not affect the other browsers. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.2.
