PI08712: Under certain circumstances, SSL communications with the ORB would stop responding

Error description

Under certain circumstances, the ORB's SSL Handshake Timeout
was erroneously being set to 0. This could
remove any previous read timeout that existed on the socket,
causing the thread to wait forever ("hang") if no handshake was
received rather than timing out as expected.

A fix has previously been applied to Websphere Application
Server 8.5.5. It needs to be backported to earlier versions.

Under certain circumstances, the ORB's SSL Handshake Timeout
was erroneously being set to 0. This could remove any previous
read timeout that existed on the socket, causing the thread to
wait forever ("hang") if no handshake was received rather than
timing out as expected.

Problem conclusion

Applying this APAR will resolve the problem, by restoring the
previous timeout value rather than setting 0.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.33, 8.0.0.9, and 8.5.5.3.  Please refer to the
