PI09523: INSTALLATION MANAGER (IM) INSTALL OF LIBERTY ON 8.5.5.1 INTO LOCAL REPOSITORY FAILS

APAR status

Error description

  • After installing the 8.5.5.1 PTFs on top of the 8.5.5.0 PTFs,
    the install of com.ibm.websphere.liberty.zOS.v85 fails with
    these messages:
    
    ERROR: Failed to find required installation files.
    CRIMA1161E ERROR:   Failed to find required installation files.
    
    Explanation: Installation Manager did not find required
    installation files from the repository. An issue has occurred
    with the package that cannot be resolved by Installation
    Manager.
    
    User Action: If the repository files were transferred from a
    different location before the installation, verify that the
    files were not altered during the transfer operation. Copy the
    repository files to a different location and install from that
    new location.
    
    ERROR: 'plug-in
    com.ibm.was.liberty.zos.moreinfo.v85_8.5.5000.20130222_0100'
    not found.
    ERROR: 'plug-in
    com.ibm.was.liberty.zos.license.v85_8.5.5000.20130509_0100' not
    found.
    
    Looking at /<repository>/WLP/base these files are missing
    repository.config
    repository.xml
    

Local fix

  • Do an APPLY REDO of these PTFs:
    UI11630 UI11631 UI11632 UI11633 UI11634 UI11635 UI11636

    8.5.5.1 level that has been installed on top of 8.5.5.0 the
    customer will experience a failure.
    
    ERROR: Failed to find required installation files.

    Explanation: Installation Manager did not find required
    installation files from the repository. An issue has occurred
    with the package that cannot be resolved by Installation
    Manager.
