This error message should not be printed when a MappedSuperclass contains an @Id. This type of class can have an @Id. This message will not cause your application to fail so effectivey it is harmless.
Problem conclusion
With this fix, code has been added to OpenJPA to prevent the error message from being printed when a MappedSuperclass contains an @Id. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in Service Levels (Fix Packs) 8.0.0.10 and 8.5.5.3 of WebSphere Application Server versions 8.0.0 and 8.5.5.
