APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Quickly restarting a Liberty Profile server on a Linux
operating system can result in a failure of the new server to
bind to a port due to a "port already in use" error.

Sockets from the previous incarnation of the server may
remain in TIMED_WAIT state even after the server is stopped,
which can cause problems with the server's new attempt to bind
    to the port.

Local fix

  • Set TCP option soReuseAddr=true in the server's server.xml file
