Error description

• Using the isClosed() API call on the JDBC native connection to
  determine whether the connection has been closed or not,
  results in a NullPointerException when invoked after the
  connection has been closed.

  The JDBC Wrapper pattern, the Connection.unwrap() is usaully
  used by applications to obtain the native JDBC Connection.
  When the JDBC API Connection.isClosed() is invoked on the
  native JDBC Connection after the connection has been closed,
  then it can result in a NullPointerException.
  

Problem conclusion

• The WebSphere Relational Resource Adapter code has been
  fixed to handle the NullpointerException appropriately.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix packs 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.3.  Please refer to the
