APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Deployment manager migration from WebSphere Application
  Server V7.0.0.31 to V8.5.5.1.
  
  Customer set http policyset on V7.0.0.31 with chunkTransferEnc
  value "no". After migration, it was found to be "yes" (the
  default value).
  

Local fix

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: User policyset setting                  *
  *                      "chunkTransferEnc" gets reset after     *
  *                      the migration of the deployment         *
  *                      manager from v7 to v8.                  *

  The old behavior was that it merged the old policy.xml from
  the previous WebSphere Application Server application and the
  new document policy.xml from the targeted application.
  Although in the old document "chunkTransferEnc" was changed to
  "no" by user, it would be reset to "yes" after migration.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code was changed and now the behavior is that migration honors
  the values from the previous policy.xml.
  
  The fix or this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 8.5.5.4.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
