Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application *
    *                  Server V8.0 and V8.5                        *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Certain complex type definitions were *
    * being removed from the internal type *
    * registry after invalid schemas were *
    *                      loaded.                                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When an invalid schema was loaded into our internal type
    registry
    there was a possibility that certain null or empty namespace
    types
    were being removed from the registry. The user would then
    unexpectedly receive an error when trying to use such types.

Problem conclusion

  • The type registry now correctly handles these invalid schemas
    and avoids an internal registry corruption.
