Error description

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) container throws
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException on incoming SIP requests
when WebSphere Application Server is configured to work with
IPv6

The SIP container throws an IllegalArgumemtException and does
not process incoming SIP requests if WebSphere Application
Server is configured for IPv6. The problem occurred because of
a wrong comparision of the shortened version of IPv6 with a
long.

Problem conclusion

The SIP container fixed the comparison issue so it processes
the SIP requests received on IPv6.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 8.0.0.9 and 8.5.5.4.  Please refer to the
