PI19437: JVM CRASH DUE TO SEGMENTATION FAULT DURING PROFILE CREATION

Error description

During profile creation, the manageprofiles command ends with
INSTCONFFAILED message indicating "The profile could not be
created" and the Java Virtual Machine invoked by the script
crashes.

This was caused due to buffer overrun while processing error
messages during MAC address retrieval. The fix manages the
error buffer correctly thus preventing the segmentation fault.

Problem conclusion

This issue was caused due to buffer overrun while processing
error messages during MAC address retrieval. The fix manages
the error buffer correctly thus preventing the segmentation
fault.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.5.5.3.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
