Error description
When deploying a server package through Admin Center Deploy, the host name used by the collective member is the host's default name, and not the host name to which it was deployed.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When deploying a server package the * * member is joined to a host with the * * default FQDN, not the registered * * host name. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When deploying a server package via Admin Center Deploy, the member is joined to the collective using a host name which is the default full qualified domain name (FQDN). The default FQDN is may not be the host name used to register the host, so the end result is the member is joined to the 'wrong host'.
Problem conclusion
The registered host name is used as part of the collective join operation, so that the host name to which a member is registered is consistent with the previously registered name. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.3.
