Error description

  • The application scoped bean for the application being stopped
is destroyed, the references to application scoped beans for
other applications are also discarded so that subsequent usage
requires the beans to be recreated.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
An instance of a CDI application scoped bean (a bean with
the @ApplicationScoped annotation), including any state
associated with it, should remain active for the lifetime
of an application. This problem means that references to those
application scoped beans are discarded when another CDI
application is stopped. The bean instances are not destroyed
but, as the reference to them is discarded, subsequent
invocations on the application will cause new instances of the
application scoped beans to be constructed and used.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix ensures that only the CDI application scoped beans for
the application being stopped are destroyed and that
references to other application scoped beans are retained.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 8.0.0.10 and fix pack 8.5.5.4. Please refer to the
