PI24246: HTTPSESSIONBINDINGEVENT.GETVALUE() RETURNS NULL

Error description

Session Attribute object contains a value, and the value is
pushed to valueUnBound() method, but
HttpSessionBindingEvent.getValue() returns null. This issue
occurs on WebSphere Application Server V7.0, on V6.1 it
returns the expected result.

The HttpSessionBindingListener class itself is the event value.
That is, HttpSessionBindingEvent.getValue() is the class
object.

Most application owner use "this" instead of the call:
HttpSessionBindingEvent.getValue()

Local fix

AuthenticatedUser user = (AuthenticatedUser) this;

instead of

AuthenticatedUser user = (AuthenticatedUser) event.getValue();

in the valueBound() of the AuthenticatedUser class.

When session attribute implements a HttpSessionBindingListener
interface, the object HttpSessionBindingEvent.getValue() may
return null.

Problem conclusion

Code has been changed to return the correct value.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 7.0.0.39, 8.0.0.10, and 8.5.5.4. Please refer to the
