While processing timeouts the server might slow down because
of a wait introduced in and caused by APAR PI16250 and
PI15453. This could end up causing hung threads.

Problem conclusion

  • The AIO library was modified to not wait as long. Also, a
custom property was introduced to change the timeout behavior
to be what it was prior to integrating PM95795. The new
    property is:

    AIONewWindowsCancelPath

The possible values are 0 or 1, with the default being 0. The
following are descriptions of the two options:

0 - This mode tells the library to wait for 50 milliseconds
    before trying the operation again

1 - This mode tells the code to behave as it was prior to
    PM95795

The property must be set as a generic JVM property.
Instructions on how to do that can be found here:

    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21417365

When setting the property it should look like this:
-DAIONewWindowsCancelPath=#, where # is the number you want to
    set

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 7.0.0.37, 8.0.0.10 8.5.5.4. Please refer to the
