Error description
The OLA load modules shipped by z/OS Connect Liberty Profile v8.5.5.2 are not compatible with the same OLA modules shipped with WebSphere Application Server v8.5.5.2 . It does mean that a CICS TS region cannot register itself to WAS and z/OS Connect at the same time and using the same load library. When we tried to register a CICS TS region using the OLA modules coming from WAS to z/OS Connect we receive the following error messgae: BBOA8104E An error occurred during default register with return code 12 and reason code 10 . The same happen when we try to connect to WAS using the OLA modules coming with z/OS Connect Liberty Profile.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server Liberty Profile for z/OS * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WOLA calls to a WebSphere Application * * Server for z/OS full profile server * * fail when using Liberty profile WOLA * * stubs. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The WebSphere Optimized Local Adapters (WOLA) stub modules (BBOA1*) are used to send and receive requests between a client process and a WebSphere Application Server for z/OS server instance. The stubs are provided by both the full profile and Liberty profile servers. When the Liberty profile stubs are used in the client process, requests to a full profile server may fail. The return and reason code on the call will vary depending on the configuration, and depending on which stubs are used. Since the WOLA link server also uses the WOLA stub modules, the link server is also affected.
Problem conclusion
Code was added to allow the WOLA Liberty profile stubs to make calls to a full profile server instance. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.5. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=180&uid=swg27004980
Temporary fix
The WOLA stubs shipped with WebSphere Application Server for z/OS full profile may be used if it is necessary to make calls to a full profile server instance. Note that the full profile stubs cannot be loaded in the client process if the Libery profile stubs are also loaded.
