APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On Japanese IBM i partitions, when console.log exists, server
  start fails.
  

Local fix

• Delete existing console.log before issuing server start

  When the WebSphere Application Server Liberty server is started
  the second time, it fails to start and issues the following
  message:
  QEJBSVR: FAILED TO CREATE CONSOLE FILE:
  <path to console.log file>
  

Problem conclusion

• The WebSphere Application Server Liberty profile server was
  updated to enable console.log file creation.
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
  pack 8.5.5.5.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
