PI27204: CONNECTION COUNT MAY BE INCORRECT WHEN USING EMBEDDED ESI CACHING

Error description

Plugin is never increasing the pending count when making a
request based upon an Edge Side Include (ESI) include tag but
it is decrementing the count when we get the response.
Therefore the counts can go negative.  This renders the counts
to control load to servers as unreliable.

If a WebSphere response back to the plugin contains embedded
ESI requests, the plugin wasn't properly handling the
connection count.

Problem conclusion

The Plugin has been corrected to account for the embedded ESI
requests to keep the connection count correct.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 8.5.5.4, 8.0.0.10, and 7.0.0.37.  Please refer to
