Error description
When you create a generic server with no executable name or start command, and only an executable target specified, you see some errors in the nodeagent log. The following messages are logged in the nodeagent: [10/2/14 12:25:09:605 CDT] 000000a1 FileRepositor A ADMR0009I: Document cells/IBM-Cell05/nodes/IBM-Node25/servers/gen2/server.xml is created. Local fix
Create generic server with executable name as documented in the link to avoid the error. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS7JFU_8.0.0/com.i bm.websphere.express.doc/info/exp/ae/trun_genericsvr_create.html
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server V8.0 and V8.5 who utilize generic * * servers * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The selectable bundle activation * * framework prints a WSVR0634E error * * message when processing generic * * servers * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The selectable bundle activation framework allows for multiple, selectable versions of some packages to be used within the WebSphere Application Server product. This processing involves inspection of server metadata. When a user-created generic server is being utilized, the processing step views its lack of a server object in its configuration to be an error, which results in a WSVR0634E message and an exception (usually logged to FFDC). Note that there is no functional issue with this, as selectable bundle configuration is not utilized in generic servers; the exception and message are purely cosmetic.
Problem conclusion
Logic was added to suppress this message and exception when a generic server is processed. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.11 and 8.5.5.6.
