OutOfMemoryError from session scoped managed bean
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM WebSphere Application Server Full * * Profile versions 8.0 and 8.5.5 users of * * JavaServer Faces (JSF) MyFaces on * * IBM WebSphere Portal * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A memory leak occurs when managed * * beans are bound to a portlet session * * and are not cleaned up. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Binding attributes to a session requires that the portlet session attribute names be prefixed with "javax.portlet.p.<ID>?". The prefix was not being removed before checking if the attribute was a session-scoped managed bean causing these beans to not be cleaned up.
Problem conclusion
The JSF MyFaces code was updated to fix the problem when the following context parameter is set to true: com.ibm.ws.jsf.removePortletSessionAttributeNamePrefix (true/false-default). The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.10 and 8.5.5.5.
