Error description

  • When attempting to update application files when the
    application files are located outside of the WLP
    installation directory - but are referenced via symbolic
    link in the WLP directory - an IllegalStateException may
    occur, preventing the server from recognizing the change(s)
    to the application.
    
    An FFDC report similar to the following would occur:

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this APAR avoids resolving the symbolic link, which
    ensures that the path checked is under the WLP directoy even if
    a directory or file in the path point to a directory or file
    outside of the WLP directory.
    
    The fix for this APAR is
    currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.5.  Please
