Error description
Attempting to access an mbean in the Liberty profile server may result in an FFDC reporting a javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException. We have only observed this when the mbean has been made unavailable, so that the attempt to access it would fail and the client receive the javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException. It is theoretically possible for this problem to occur even if the mbean is still registered.

We have only observed this when the MBean has been made unavailable, so that the attempt to access it would fail and the client receive the javax.management.InstanceNotFoundException. It is theoretically possible for this problem to occur even if the MBean is still registered.
Problem conclusion
The framework managing registering certain OSGI services as MBeans was altered to correctly deal with several situations, including the OSGI service providing the MBean implementation being temporarily unavailable (the cause of this situation). The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.5.5.5.
